ABOUT SAArCO

SAARC Arbitration Council, Islamabad (SARCO) is one of the Specialized Bodies of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC), comprising of all the SAARC Nations. It is an inter-governmental body mandated to provide a legal framework/forum within the region for fair and efficient settlement of commercial, industrial, trade, banking, investment, and such other disputes, as may be referred to it by the member states and their people.Their mission is to provide fair, inexpensive, expeditious and high quality arbitral and conciliatory services to resolve trade and other commercial disputes. SARCO and NLSTIAM have had an extremely successful collaboration since last year. SARCO’s contribution has been instrumental in helping NLSTIAM facilitate greater exposure of contemporary arbitration issues among SAARC nations and allow greater
participation from the SAARC Nations. The Spirit of SAARC award has also been instituted from the corpus awarded by SARCO, which has been awarded to the team having braved the most adversity to participate in the Moot thereby embodying most the collective indomitable spirit of the SAARC nations.
